The ongoing strike action by Joint Action committee of Universities consisting of NASU,SSANU and NAAT may not end anytime soon as the striking Unions are yet to meet with the Federal government after the December 19 meeting held to resolve the issues surrounding the strike action
Abdulsubbor Salaam the SSANU Public Relations officer told Education Herald that there is no development on.the strike action yet ” We are still waiting for the Federal government invitation for a meeting but nothing yet on the issues”.
JAC went on strike late last year in December to protest alleged disparity in payment of Earned Alowance between Academic and Non-Academic staffs in Nigerian Universities.
Nigerian University students have been stranded since last year over the strike with no end in Strike action
JAC reportedly demanded 65billion naira to end the strike action.
