Students of Obafemi Awolowo University
have continued to show displeasure over continued darkness that has ravaged their Campus days before the semester Examination.
The University had fixed January 29, for commencement of the Rain Semester Examination despite the ongoing National strike by the Non-academic Unions in the University.
Faith Alawode a Student of the University told EDUCATION HERALD that the situation has caused a lot of inconveniences as Students no longer read conveniently “We are preparing for final examinations and there is no light to read, it has been tough and we are scared”.
Another Student Olawale Shola told Education Herald that if things don’t improve, Students may end up having dismal performance in the Examination “We need to read well and the University has not been helping issues”.
Speaking to EDUCATION HERALD, NASU OAU Chairman Wole Odewunmi said the issue is beyond their branch “It is a National strike and there is little we can do”.
Ademola Oketunde SSANU Chairman of OAU also told EDUCATION HERALD that the workers will only return to class upon the order of the National Body.
When contacted the University Public Relations officer, Olarewaju Abiodun told EDUCATION HERALD that all hands has been on deck to resolve the issues “We are not resting, you will see major improvements soon”.
