OAU JAC Accuses ASUU of been Behind National Strike

The Coordinator of Non Academic Staffs in Obafemi Awolowo University, Comrade Wole Odewunmi has accused the Academic Staff Union of Universities of been the brain behind the current controversies rocking the Nigerian University system.
Comrade Wole said this today during a Radio program (CampusVibes) on Ooduafm in Ile-Ife.

When asked what he thinks is the Genesis of the crisis, Comrade Wole said “Basically, the current strike action is caused by the crude way ASUU does her things, we had an agreement with the Federal Government in 2013 on sharing of Earned Allowance but suddenly they changed everything due to the way ASUU does their things, they went behind our back to act the way they should not have acted “.

Comrade Wole Odewunmi encouraged the Federal Government to look inwards and resolve all issues that led to the strike action for the sake of Students in various Universities.

It would be recalled that JAC consisting of NASU, SSANU and NAAT went on strike to protest the sharing ratio of the 23billion Naira released to workers in the Nigerian Universities as Earned allowance. ASUU reportedly got 19billion Naira while JAC got 4billion Naira.
