Gov. Fayose Intervenes in EKSU Lecturers Strike

The Ekiti State Governor has intervened in the Ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, EKSU.

EDUCATION HERALD learnt that the Governor has called for negotiation and is set to meet with the striking lecturers before this week runs out.

This was also confirmed by the Chairman of ASUU, EKSU Chapter Prof Olu Olu. The ASUU scribe told EDUCATION HERALD that the National leadership of the body is involved and a negotiation Will hold “I cannot state that there is end in sight for the strike but all I can say is that the University has reached out to the National leadership and the Governor has expressed interest in meeting us but we are waiting to be called probably this week, till that time we cannot state exactly the position ”

The lecturers went on strike over alleged poor funding of the University and unpaid salaries.
